Hi! I'm Tayla — a passionate, highly organised and super driven tutor who simply loves helping people. I know what it feels like to struggle with Maths, and how life-changing it is when someone finally explains it in a way that just clicks. That moment is why I teach. Whether your child needs help building foundations, catching up, or pushing for a distinction, I create a patient, supportive space where they feel seen, capable and motivated to succeed. I’m passionate about inclusive education and have extensive experience working with learners with diverse needs, including ADHD, dyslexia and cerebral palsy. I focus on creating a space where learners feel safe to ask questions, and I’m proud that my learners consistently improve by 5-10% per term. Academically, I’m currently completing my BSc Agriculture at the University of Pretoria, which gives me a strong foundation for my specialist subjects. I also hold a Music qualification and completed my TAP Dance Teachers Qualification in 2024, which trained me in effective teaching methods and lesson structure. Beyond tutoring, I serve as Regional Coordinator for SACEE (South African Council for English Education) and as a Debating Coach at St Dominic’s, roles that have strengthened my ability to teach clear communication, critical thinking and confident learning. At heart, I’m passionate, confident and just obsessed with that amazing moment when it all finally clicks for a learner.

Experience

5 years of tutoring experience. I have been tutoring privately since 2023, helping learners from Junior School right through to Matric in both CAPS and IEB. I tutor all Junior School subjects and specialise in Life Sciences and Mathematics in the senior phases, with additional support in Physical Sciences, Afrikaans FAL, Business Studies and Music. Over the years I have worked with many learners with diverse learning needs, including ADHD, dyslexia and cerebral palsy, and I am proud that my learners consistently improve by 5-7% per term. As the Regional Coordinator for SACEE (since 2023) and Debating Coach at St Dominic's, I bring strong communication, critical thinking and structured study skills into every lesson. My goal is never just a better mark — it's helping your child go from "I can't" to "I can, and I did."

I am currently completing my BSc in Animal Science at the University of Pretoria, which gives me a strong academic foundation for the subjects I specialise in, particularly Life Sciences, Mathematics and Physical Sciences. I hold a Music qualification and completed my TAP Dance Teachers Qualification in 2024, both of which have given me formal training in teaching methodology, lesson planning and learner development. Combined with my experience across CAPS and IEB curricula, I am equipped to break down complex concepts into simple, clear steps that learners can truly understand and retain.
